Birthday Month!

My birthday month is rapidly approaching and I couldn't be more excited! We kicked off the birthday celebration this past weekend when my amazing boyfriend threw me a surprise party! I literally had NO idea...I've had several surprise parties in my day, and this was the only one that completely surprised me. Trey is a TERRIBLE liar, so I was so touched that he planned this whole thing out without me knowing anything. Plus, we spent the entire day together on Saturday and he didn't fudge once! I am beyond impressed and felt so blessed to have such great friends to celebrate with.

As far as the rest of the weekend, we saw True Grit on Friday night, which was amazing. And Sunday was spent lounging and being hungover together. I watched several movies...Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, the last half of Valentine's Day, Independence Day and Rock N Rolla. All not bad! I rarely have days where I just lounge, so it was nice to gear up for the week...and for GASPARILLA! Shelby, Burton and I fly out on Wednesday night to go to Tampa for the weekend's festivities, and Trey gets in on Thursday night. I am beyond excited and cannot wait! I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get back! In the meantime, have a great week and weekend!

As promised...

New Year's Resolutions

1. Worry Less

I tend to worry a lot about the future...where I'm going to be in the next year, what I'm going to be doing, where I'm going to be living, if I'm going to be happy, etc. In 2011, my number one resolution is to worry less about where I'm going to be in a year and focus more on the present.

2. Travel Better

I have terrible flight anxiety, and it starts a trip out on SUCH a bad note (Trey can attest). I need to learn how to suck it up and just relax...even if that means leaving for the airport extra early. I hate starting a trip off on the wrong foot, so this is a big on for me.

3. Go to Church At Least Once a Month

I was on roll for a while in the fall, but lately I'm sad to admit I've been slacking. I'm in a group bible study with Burton, Shelby and couple other people that meets every other Sunday, but we took a break for the holidays, and it's made me feel a big gap in my religious life. Therefore, I want to try to start going to church at least one Sunday a month. It makes me feel so much more balanced.

4. Keep in Touch with Girlfriends More

This is a tough one for me because by the time I've finished work, gone to the gym/run AND cooked and eaten dinner, I'm not at all in the mood to hop on the phone and chit chat because I'm so exhausted. I want to be better at keeping in touch this year because I hate getting to the point where I have no idea what's going on in my best friends' lives!

5. Get Out More During the Week

Like I said above, I tend to stick to my same routine during the week: work, gym, dinner, TV, sleep. This year, I want to be more flexible and open to doing more activities throughout the work week. Whether it's going to see a movie with friends or watching The Bachelor at a friend's house. Sky's the limit!

That's all, folks! Wish me luck. What are your 2011 Resolutions?

SNOWWWWWWWWW

Okay, okay, I know I promised my New Year's resolutions today, but you're just going to have to wait. I haven't had time to put it all together becauuuuuuseeeee...

It's been FREEZING here!!!!

Saturday was 60 degrees and sunny...Sunday was 32 degrees and snowy...yesterday was 29 degrees and snowy, and today is 20 degrees but feels like 8 degrees with the wind chill! Is that a joke? This is Texas for goodness sake! THIS Florida gal is not used to this sort of weather. So, with that in mind, here is a list of winter goodies I seriously wish I had right now...

1. Cozy Sweater...yes, I have lots of sweaters, turtle necks, etc. but they are all so light! Look how warm that chick looks...

2. "Puff" Jacket...I've never even thought about buying one, but I truly can't think of anything warmer.

3. UGG Boots...something I would never need in Florida but am in dire need of in the winter here. Yes, I have TUGGS (Target UGGS), but they just are NOT the same.

4. Infinity Scarf...Okay, so this isn't totally necessary, but I do really want one. Look how fashionable they are!

Never gone winter shopping before, but perhaps it's time to start!

Cheers to 2011

Sorry for the absence...I have been in vacation land, and it's been wonderful! New Year's in Carmel, California was an absolute blast. It was so sad leaving, but hopefully I'll see it again one day. We got in on Thursday around 10 a.m. (yes, our flight out of Dallas was at 6 a.m. Awesome.) and got back late Monday night, so we had almost 5 full days in Carmel, which was seriously awesome. It felt like a really long vacation...partly, I guess, because it was! So I had two back-to-back vacation "weeks" and am now officially back to the grind. It was a nice holiday off, but January and February are going to be some busy months. Anyway, nothing too exciting to update on...New Year's was a blast, we went to a 1920's themed party and were the youngest people there by about 30 years! It was really fun though...so fun that I got on stage and sand "Mr. Postman." My high school/college friends will be so proud!!! Video to come soon, I promise. It's too funny not to post. Anyway, here are some pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!
