it's time for the weekend

yay for friday! how has everyone's week been? i am to the moon today because i get to a. go to the lake this weekend (hip hip hoorayyyyyy). first lake trip of the season what what! and b. i get to go to tampa in one week! which means wedding planning, baby finley time and celebrating trey and i's engagement with family and friends. i so excited!

1.  when i wake up in the morning, the first thing i do is either take bailey out or hop in the shower.

2.  i can hardly wait for   the summertime when work slows down, my bachelorette party in june and my wedding in august!!!

3.  the quickest way to my heart is   warm baked goods or flowers   because   do i really have to explain?

4. a little known fact about me is that    i have only broken one bone in my body - my arm. when i was 2 years old, i fell off a rocking chair and broke my arm. yes, a rocking chair. deadly object.

5. the best part about my job is    the flexibility and casual atmosphere

6. something i just couldn't live without is    my phone. sad but true. it keeps me in touch with my family and friends who live far away.

7.  something useful that I wish i knew how to do is  photoshop. people do all these cool creative things in photoshop for their blogs, and i haven't the slightest clue how to do that shiz.

i'm in a great mood today because i had such an accomplishing weekend! that rarely happens, you know, but i am officially moved in with my fiance and it has been soooo much fun already...and it's only been 4 days! i can't believe it. we ended up moving over all of my clothes, bathroom stuff and other paraphernalia on friday afternoon/night, we organized on saturday afternoon and cleaned/grocery store shopped on sunday. i can't describe to you how amazing it feels to be settled. the past couple of months have been difficult - going back and forth from my apartment to his house after work and back to my apartment in the morning before work to change. i feel like i am no longer stressed or rushing everywhere. love! anyway, i think this is huge. i have already felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders and have had loved sharing a home together. it finally feels like we are starting a life together (as silly as that sounds). 4 months and counting until it's official ;)

in other news, a friend of mine has started a really cool project if you live in cleveland or dallas. He designed these awesome posters for the two cities that show each of the different neighborhoods...

very neat - especially if you are a big fan of either cities ;) i want him to make one for tampa next! you can order these in the video below.

the friday that i have nothing to look forward to...

it's finally friday. i know i sound like a broken record because every friday i say it has been the longest week...but this has truly been the longest and most stressful week of my life. not only have i worked my ass off at my job all week, but i also was sole caretaker of bailey boy and then had to take care of a stomach bugged-trey when he got home on thursday. i need some me time. pronto. i wish i could say i'm excited to relax this weekend...but i have to work an event all day/night tomorrow and i have to move on sunday. bah-humbug.

1.  today is a great day because ehh...i'd typically say because it's friday but that doesn't mean too much for me this particular weekend.

2.   tomorrow i will   be working and packing. fml

3.  my favorite time of day is    the morning    because   i've always been a morning person - it's when i feel the most fresh and productive :)

4. sometimes you just have to    drink a bottle of wine by yourself. what?? don't judge me.

5. a song that i just can't get enough of lately is   "call me maybe" by carly rae jepsen. don't know it? spotify that shiz immediately.

6. my favorite accessory is   a turquoise necklace from jcrew - it's a great pop of color

7.  my favorite thing about this week was  that it's over.

my invitations are in!!!!! yayyyyyyyyy. sandy (mom) and i are so ahead of the game - but only on invitations. we have been seriously lacking on everything else haha. ohhhh well. anywhoo, i can't show a sneak peak until they've officially been sent and received, but i love them! they are very me, and i can't wait to see them in person in 2 weeks. yipppeeeeeee. in the meantime, here are some invitations that i love? hahaha

monday monday monday

can we all just agree that this weekend went by way too fast? so annoying. i spent the weekend hanging with my pooch, catching up on my magazines and my tv shows and running errands. sounds pretty dull, but it was actually quite refreshing. don't worry - i did have some social interaction at a good friend's bridal shower on saturday afternoon. speaking of wedding showers, they are pretty badass. definitely makes me excited to get married. trey got back in town last night for a few short hours and left this morning for a work trip. so it looks like it's just bailey and i for the next couple of days again! i only minded his company when he woke me up at 7:30 a.m. on both saturday and sunday. seriously, pup, do you not understand what a weekend is? methinks my apartment was too bright for him, and when he saw a hint of sunlight, he thought it was time for the day to get started. goodness gracious. 

hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and an easy week ahead. i for one will be working for the weekend. but then again, when am i not?

friday the 13th - eeeeek

happy friday friends. i'm sorry i haven't really been around the blogosphere for the last couple of weeks, but it's safe to say i am back in action from here on out (until my wedding date gets closer, of course!). my week was a little nutty...always is when i come back to work from being out of town. highlights of my week were my daily finley fix (sometimes i got pics twice a day! i am a spoiled aunt), hanging with my boys [trey and bailey], finishing my book (50 shades darker..insanely good trilogy...i'm starting the third this weekend) and a sushi date night with t last night. we haven't spent the last 2 weekends together, and he's going out of town this weekend and then to denver for work next week, so i tried to spend as much time as i could with him before his travels. anywhoo, i hope everyone had a wonderful week. onto this week's friday blanks.

 

1.  today is a good day because  well, it's friday...so nothing to complain about there.

2.   the best thing i did all week was  get caught up at work...and have a date night with my man since he's going to be out of town for the weekend/week.

3.  the current weather is  muggy  and it makes me feel   tired and unproductive.

4. the best thing about spring is  patios, weekend lake tips, dresses, shorts and flip flops.

5. a fashion trend that i'm dying to try out for spring is  bright skinnies. i just bought a pair of turquoise skinnies and am excited to wear them.

6. a person who made me smile this week was   my one-week-old niece finley. every day she makes me smile :)

 

7.  the most delicious thing i ate all week was  sashimi platter last night from tei tei and tres vanilla gelato for dessert from pacuigo. yummmm.

i'm so sorry i've been gone so long! goodness gracious. i do have some very exciting news to report...i am officially an aunt!!! my sister-in-law gave birth to a beautiful and perfect baby girl on thursday, april 5 at 12:38 a.m. and the best news? i got to be there :) at 2 p.m. on wednesday, april 4, i was told to get on the next flight, and that i did! god's handiwork was truly felt because i was on standby on a southwest flight and was miraculously given a seat at the last minute. so happy i was able to be there and spend easter weekend with the newest addition to the family. i am to the moon!
