friday baby

it is finally friday and we have a three-day weekend! what a great way to come back into town and back to work. trey and i are staying in town this year, which is rare - we typically have a trip planned to north carolina or the lake, but we decided we would stay here and relax this year since we'll have just come back from vacay! also, a good friend of mine is in town for the michigan/alabama game in dallas this weekend, so i'm excited to see him tonight! side note, can you believe it's OFFICIALLY football season? i am ecstatic! the gators kick off their season on saturday with a random game [as usual], but next week we are playing the newest sec member, texas a&m. i am pumped. that's going to be a tough one, but if we can pull out the big w, we'll have a great start to the season ;)

i am so happy to be back in the groove and writing my first fill-in-the-blank friday post in 3 weeks!

1.  over this labor day weekend i will be    relaxing with fun people, writing thank you notes for wedding gifts and spending time with my new hubby.

2.  with the political debates going on right now, my thoughts are  we need a new president. i don't talk politics on my blog for obvious reasons, but at this point, i think it's pretty clear that what our current president has attempted to do during his term is not working - it's turning our economy into a bigger mess. we need a business man to whip it back into shape. romney/ryan 2012!

3.  today  i am going to the social security office to change my name!
4. the best thing i've cooked recently was    spaghetti squash casserole...but i already posted about that before our wedding. apologies - it's been a while since i've cooked since i've been gone haha

5. the last thing i bought was  two pillow covers from etsy for trey and i's new couch earlier this morning

6. the best movie i saw this summer was
the dark knight rises. it was amazeballs. perfect ending to a perfect trilogy.

7.  the best book i read this summer was  i am currently reading a real cutesy book called commencement by j. courtney sullivan. i found it at our villa in st. bart's and started reading it on the beach. it's an easy read so i only have about a chapter left!

i hope you all have something amazing, fun and relaxing planned this weekend. tootles!

wedding pics!!

well, i'm officially a mrs! i had the best time at our wedding - the hubs and i literally keep reliving it and truly had the best day of our lives! it was amazing being surrounded by all of our friends and family watching us say i do. i still cannot believe we are marriedddd!!

our honeymoon in st. bart's was absolutely incredible (we didn't get hit by isaac, thank goodness), and we were so depressed to leave on monday. we both literally stared at each other at breakfast monday morning, silent, because we were so upset to get back to the real world. the past 2 weeks have just been incredible, but i can't tell you how excited i am for married life :)

i'll have to do a separate honeymoon post since i haven't had the time to go through our gazillion photos from st bart's, but our wedding photographer posted a couple sneak peek pics that i wanted to share!

love love and love and am soooo excited to see all of the photos!! what a tease :)

wedding wednesday

my final wedding wednesday post before the big day!!! by now, i am happily in florida and hopefully the stress has subdued :) this last weekend was great - relaxing and very productive. on friday, trey and i had a dinner/movie date and saw the campaign (side note - pretty funny movie, but a lot of the funnier parts were played on the previews, which is a huge bummer). saturday, i woke up to work out and then had a hair appointment for a cut and color. i came home and laid out on the roof for a couple hours so i have a bit of color for the wedding, and then we went to a friend's house for dinner. it was a great little saturday. sunday was spent packing and running errands for the wedding and honeymoon! speaking of the honeymoon...trey and i are spending 7 amazing days in the gorgeous st. bart's!

happy friday

happy friday everybody! well, i don't have too much to report from this week other than this is my last friday at work for two weeks! if that's not something to celebrate, i don't know what is. i have one more work day [monday] and then i'm east-bound for 2 entire weeks. i am ecstatic! i haven't taken that long of a vacation since i was in college, so you can imagine my excitement. i also realized i haven't revealed our honeymoon destination on the blog yet, so i'm going to save that for my final 'wedding wednesday' post next week. it's a good one :)

yesterday, trey and i received what is most definitely my favorite wedding present to date. it sounds nerdy, so i'll just post a picture instead:

pottery barn calls it a wall organizer sliding chalkboard/pinboard. i call it heaven. i loooooove it. writing little messages and making lists is one of my favorite things to do, so this will get lots and lots of use in the rome household. thank you to my great grand little for the amazing present!

anywhoo, onto today's fill in the blankety blank friday.

1.  the age i will be on my upcoming birthday is  27. but i don't feel a day over 24 :)

2.   the best birthday present ever would be   a trip to europe or a greek cruise. hey, i'm not asking for much, am i? haha

3.  my favorite birthday to date was  either my 22nd surprise birthday in dallas (thrown by my amazing sister in law and brother) or my 21st birthday in gainesvegas. so much fun!

4. birthdays make me feel    happy! my parents always made a huge deal out of birthdays growing up, so they always bring back fun memories of my family always making me feel so special.

5. the worst birthday i ever had was   my 25th. we had ice storms in dallas, so i was stuck in my one-bedroom apartment alone and freezing. so depressing.

6. when i was born  i was a day late (must explain why i hate being late now!), but i must have been cute because my parents decided to keep me!

7.  So far my favorite age has been  25 and 26. got engaged at 25 and getting married at 26. what could be better?

hope y'all have a great weekend!!!

wedding wednesday

well, the countdown is official...t minus 10 days people!! i know i've said it a gazillion times on here, but i truly cannot believe how fast these past 8 months have gone by. I feel like it was just yesterday we were in telluride and trey proposed! and now i am a mere 10 days away from the biggest moment of my life ever - saying "i do" to the love of my life. i can't wait!

so, since all the details are done...and i can't give away any secrets (like show you my bridal portraits - please), i figured i'd post some of my favorite engagement pics of trey and i. you know, the ones you haven't seen yet. enjoy!

^ is currently my phone background b-t-dubs. look at that smile!

sorry for my lack of creativity today. as you can imagine, all i can really think of right now is our wedding, but i also can't give away the big details until after the big day :) happy hump day!

long week

well, it has been a long week to say the least. but after today, i can say i have only one more full week of work left until i head to tampa to prepare for the big day! i'll have two amazing weeks off and i couldn't be more excited. i haven't taken more than 2 days off from work ever...so this is truly going to be incredible.

in other news, i'm starting to feel the pressure...any brides out there have advice for a bride-to-be getting married in 2 weeks?  i feel like i'm being pulled in all different directions by lots of different people that need me to do certain things. and on very little sleep. it's exhausting. i want to be able to relax and enjoy the next 2 weeks...not be hot-tempered and short-fused! i'm hoping after i finish the rehearsal dinner seating this weekend, i will feel a lot calmer and will be able to soak up my last week in dallas and get myself excited for the big day. i know once i get to tampa, i'll feel much better, but getting through next week may be tough. i feel like i'm balancing all sorts of feelings...anxiety, nervousness, happiness, perfectionism (can't help it), excited-ness. maybe i just need to take a xanex haha. anywhoo, i have a whole lot of nothing planned for this weekend (yipeeee), so i'm taking advantage of nobody being in town so i can veg.

1.  i am proud of myself for moving to dallas where i only knew a brother and sister-in-law and creating a life here on my own - meeting trey wasn't so bad either :)

2.   this weekend i will   be finishing some last-minute wedding details, soaking up some sun and lounging with my fiance.

3.  a secret dream i have is  to quit my job and move to italy for a year with my hubs

4. i can't handle   when people are fake and judgmental...it's just not right and there are too many of those people in dallas.

5. the most annoying thing in the entire world is   traffic and a long airport security line

6. the most relaxing thing in the entire world is   getting a pedicure or sitting on the beach with a cold drink in one hand

7.  i think everyone should  educate themselves more about politics. i admit i'm guilty of following whichever side my parents agreed with when i was younger, but our generation is the future and we need to spend the time to educate ourselves about the candidates and what they really stand for/plan to do once in office. so many of us waste our time believing into the media hype, and it's pointless. okay, enough from me.

hope everybody has a wonderful weekend, and if anyone has any stress-free tips, please feel free to send them my way :)
