Fill in the Blank Frizzity Friday!

Okay, first off, TGIF. Was this the longest week ever for anyone besides me? Goodness. I sadly didn't have Monday off for President's Day (not cool at all) and got back from Vegas Sunday night, so this week has literally carried on and on and on. I just can't tell you how ecstatic I am that it's the END. Finally! Anyway, as with my new tradition, here is today's Fill in the Blank Friday.

1. I am currently obsessed with bright spring clothes. I am sooo ready for it to be warm again (we're getting close!)

2. Today I am HAPPY because, it's Friday AND I'm road-tripping to Austin this afternoon with my sister-in-law. Can't wait until 5!

3. The age I am is 25 and the age I feel is 22. I just turned 25 this month, so it's still taking some getting used to, but I definitely do NOT feel 25.

4. My favorite place is my parent's house in Tampa or the beach (really any beach haha).

5. Something I have been procrastinating is decorating my apartment...BUT I have an excuse! I am waiting for momma to come in town for her expertise.

6. The last thing I purchased was haha I went to Walgreens this morning before work to buy those Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips by Sally Hansen. I heard they are the BOMB! I'll let you know if they work...

7. The thing I love most about my home is well, I still consider my "home" my parent's house in Tampa...and what I love most about it is who lives there :) As far as my apartment here, I like it because it's my little nook I go to when I need to get away. I live by myself but spend most of my time at Trey's house, so my studio serves as my getaway from the world.

Things 90s Kids Realize

I just discovered this site thank to Miss Shelby Tuttle, and it is HYSTERICAL. I suggest you check it out immediately. Here is one of their posts that I can completely relate to:

Dunkaroos Are The Greatest After School Treat Ever.

This isn’t really up for debate but since taste is opinion based, I encourage those with retarded taste buds to pitch a case for anything better than a Dunk-A-Mother-F’N-Roo. These things were little kangaroo shaped cookies which were flavored cinnamon, honey graham or chocolate chip. There were only about 10 cookies in the package along with 1 cubic inch of the most scrumdiddlyumptious icing ever used for cookie dipping. The flavors of the frosting were chocolate and vanilla – sometimes even vanilla with rainbow sprinkles. These things are extremely rare nowadays so if you’ve tasted the amazingness recently, consider yourself very fortunate. If there’s anyone out there who knows of a good place to get them, please inform the rest of the 90s kids so we can have a mouthgasm. Costco is the only place I know of that carries them but if you’re poor like me and can’t afford a membership, you’re probably still Jonesing for a taste. I’ve tried other snacks but none can fill the role of greatest treat ever. I wish I could quit you Dunkaroos… I wish I could quit you.

The End of an Era

Today, my friends, my older brother is driving back to Florida...for good! He has been in Dallas for 9 years, and he and his wife Shelby have decided it's time to move on. He accepted a job at a real estate company in Tampa, Florida and starts next week. Very exciting for them, BUT I am very sad to see them leave. In the 3 years I've lived here, so have they. And now, I'll be the lone Texas Tuttle here in Dallas, holding the fort down! Craziness.

In other news, I am back from an AMAZING trip to Vegas. We had such a great time and I wouldn't have done a thing differently :) I only lost 24 bucks too! Not too shabby.

Anyway, here are some pics to recap the weekend. There were 17 of us total (yes, you heard me right, 17!), and we stayed at the amazing Palazzo hotel. Holla!

Lauren Kelly and I with Lizzy (the bride) at TAO on Friday!

Besties!

The beautiful bride!

Hummer limo...HOLLA

Candid pic from Surrender on Saturday night...wow is all I have to say

There you have it! Great trip all around...lots of alcohol and dancing never hurt nobody!

IT"S FRIDAY!!!

http://www.patagoniagifts.com/images/victorbezrukov.jpg

It's finally Friday!!

This week was a loooong one for me...as are most when I'm leaving town for the weekend. Anyway, I live for weekends and today is definitely the light at the end of the tunnel since I'm going to VEGAS in a mere couple of hours! Woop woop.

So, my tradition continues with Fill in the Blank Fridays today. Enjoy!

1. I am a lover of my family, laughing, coffee, traveling, Christ, girlfriends, beaches, any body of water, texting, sweets, talking and the Florida Gators.

2. The bravest thing I've ever done was get on stage at Pebble Beach Country Club on New Year's Eve 2010 and sing "Mr. Postman." Hey, I got an iPad out of it?

3. I feel prettiest when I get out of the shower, so fresh and so clean clean!

4. Something that keeps me awake at night is worrying! If you know me, you know that I am a huge worry wart...what do I worry about, you ask? Sadly, everything and anything. Dying, the future, my family, work, money, what I'm going to have for lunch tomorrow...I need to stop!

5. My favorite meal in the entire world is ooooh this is a toughy because I LOVE food. Balsamic chicken risotto - either from Taverna or my kitchen :), a good filet mignon (medium rare please!) never disappoints and my mom's Fogarty salad. It is the BOMB.

6. The way to my heart is through quality time and random acts of kindness

7. I would like to travel to Italy again...and soon! Oh, and buy a new iPhone...mine is worthless

Hope everybody has a wonderful weekend! I'll be sure to take some pictures in Vegas!! Adios

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

http://fabandfru.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/las-vegas.jpg

I'm heading to VEGAS tomorrow for my good friend Liz's bachelorette party! I've never been to Vegas with girlfriends, so I am stoked! My pops took me to Veg for my 21st birthday, so we did the nice dinners/gambling/shows thing, which, don't get me wrong, was AWESOME. But I am excited to go clubbing and actually go crazy with my loves! Should be a weekend to remember.

Ahhhh I just can't wait! Forty percent chance of rain though, so please pray for no rain for us!

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?

Obsessing over...

This adorable sitting area...I really love it, AND I have the perfect space in my little studio to do this :)

Thank you apartment 34!

Fill in the Blank Tuesday!

Okay, so I know it's not Friday, but I missed last week's and I really want to start doing this every Friday, so I'm starting today. We'll just call it Fill in the Blank Tuesday today! This is from a blog I follow called the little things we do. It's great - I suggest you follow it.

1. The TV show/website that I watch/read that I would be embarrassed to tell anyone about is Jersey Shore and anything on Bravo...such guilty pleasures

2. An item of clothing that is worn and torn but that I love far too much to throw away is My Rock & Republic jeans from college - they were my first designer jeans and have been patched up several times, but I just love them! I can never throw them away...

3. My grocery store impulse buy is Cracker Barrel sharp cheddar cheese and Special K Vanilla Almond cereal...my fridge/pantry is always stocked with the two.

4. Something I do at work to pass time that I wouldn't want my co-workers to know about is Blog and Gchat

5. One thing in my life that I could give up, but never will is Sweets...I have a HUGE sweet tooth. I know I could give them up because I do every year for Lent, but it ain't easy. I would never give them up forever.

6. A little indulgence that I have is Eating cereal for dinner...it's delicious any time of day!

7. The junk drawer/area in my house is Sadly, I have a junk closet right now with boxes of summer clothes, bags of random stuff and a couple broken blinds. Living in a studio apartment = no room for storage.

We have ourselves a "situation"

The comment he made to my friend Casey: "You're too pale." What a winner...

Boy, do I have some updates!

If you haven't heard (yeah, I've been bragging about it juuuuuust a teet!), I went to Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks owner)'s VIP Super Bowl Party on Saturday night...and it was awesome! List of celebs we saw...Turtle and Vince from Entourage (Turtle is skinny and short, and Vince is beautiful...yeah, I said it), The Situation and Pauley D, Colt McCoy, Jake from the Bachelor (hardly a celeb, but, still kinda crazy nonetheless) and last but most certainly not least, we got to see Usher perform about 20 feet away from him...here are some photos to prove my stories haha.

Turtle!

Ushhhhha...

He was literally the best dancer I've ever seen...those moves. DAMN!

So, that was clearly the highlight of my weekend. We completely on a whim went to this party...I was having dinner with my friend Casey, and our friends Brooke, Katie and Blynn got on the guest list somehow, so we decided at the last minute that we'd try to use their names to get in. And it worked! It was awesome. I had no idea what to expect...no clue Usher was performing, no clue there'd be open bar. It was LEEEEGIT. Anywhoo, that's my big news!

This week, we had another snow storm, so we got a snow day on Wednesday. Don't get me wrong...I like being able to work from home every once in a while, but I'm getting sick and tired of this cold weather. Not only do I HATE cold weather with a passion, but I also just don't have the clothes for it. Not gonna lie, I'm a much happier person when it's warm outside and the sun is out. I was made for the summer. So anyway, weather controller, if you are out there listening, PLEASE warm Dallas up. Please please PLEASE! Thanks!

Other news from the week: I finally bought a console/buffet table for my apartment. I've been needing something badly for a wall in my place...and for storage. And this weekend, my project is to hang everything up in my room :) I promise to post pictures once it's completed! Tuesday, I had dinner with my old roomies Britt and Hannah, and it was sooo good to see them! I had no idea how much I'd miss them upon moving out! Wednesday night, I had a belated birthday dinner with my girlfriends Molly, Casey and Katie at Mi Cocina (delicious Tex-Mex spot in Dallas). Katie's boyfriend's birthday is tonight, so we are all going to dinner and celebrating for him! I'm excited.

Tried posting a video from the concert but it was taking hours to upload...anyway, until next time! Have a great weekend everybody.

XO
J

Crazy Winter Weather!

If you haven't heard, Dallas has had some INSANE weather this entire week! I was out of town in Tampa last weekend, but apparently it was 75 and sunny...but that all changed early on Tuesday morning when a snowstorm hit Dallas. Since Tuesday, the city has been mayhem! The roads have been icy, so it's been impossible to drive. When it snows/sleets in Dallas, us Texans have no idea how to handle it, so our cities shut down! It's been a ghost town the past couple of days. So it snowed all night last night, and this is what I woke up to:

So today is another snow day!!! Woop da woop!

Officially 25 womp womp

Well, folks, it's official....I am a quarter of a century old. It's a bittersweet feeling. I typically love birthdays, but the last couple have been slightly depressing. Probably because celebrating in high school and especially college is such a production. In high school, my group of friends would decorate the birthday girl's locker and bring cupcakes and goodies to munch on throughout the day. Then we always went crazy and celebrated on the weekend following. In college, it didn't matter the night of the week, you went out the night before (hello, midnight is your birthday) AND the next night. You wore sashas, tiaras, signs, etc. Hence, a production. Ahh, I miss those days.

Throwbacks from my 21st

Nowadays, you do a group dinner and go out. Fun, nonetheless, but just different. It's not typically "all about you" anymore, and hey, I'll be honest, I miss that. I like being in the spotlight for one day - hey, it's the ONE day out of the year that is yours.

So, I celebrated my birthday over the weekend at Gasparilla (which was AWESOME...photos comin soon). And the highlight of my day yesterday (my actual birthday) was that I got to stay home from work because we had a SNOW DAY! It was great but I got maaaajor cabin fever by the afternoon. Trey was planning to take me out to a birthday dinner, but, due to the nasty/freezing/icy weather, we decided to cook in instead and postpone the "out to dinner" until next weekend. We made a delicious seafood pasta, mozzarella garlic bread and topped it off with some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (dipped in milk, of course). I should have taken a pic of the pasta because it was DELICIOUS and very pretty. This Floridian is no fan of cold weather, so it was nice to stay in (in sweats) and cook together. I had a bit of a melt down at one point during the day (sorrrrrrrry Trey), but a good cry never hurt no one!!

Anyway, cheers to another year gone by. I'm signing off with a birthday quote I just heard...and I dig it!

"Birthdays are nature's way of telling us to eat more cake and drink more wine."

Sold...
