Happy Christmas!

Merry Belated Christmas!

I went home for a week, and it was absolutely wonderful. I loved hanging out with my parents and seeing all of my family and friends. It was hard to leave, but it was just such a great time that I was happy to leave on such a great note. I got to see all of my high school and college friends, which was amazing. They're the best - I already miss them. BUT I get to see all of them in a month for Gasparilla! So I wasn't too sad to leave. I used my new digital camera for the first time wooooo - ooooh yeah - the beau got me a new digital camera for Christmas!! We exchanged before Christmas since I was in Tampa. I love it. It's a pink Canon Powershot and it is the bomb. SO, I took some pics over the week/weekend, but I just have to transfer them to my computer. I'll post soon!

In the meantime, here is a photo of the two most precious dogs in the world:

Meet Jack! The cutest labradoodle in the world!

And we all know Mr. Bailey Boy!

Off to Carmel on Thursday for New Year's Eve...I will be sure to take LOTS of photos!

Back Safely!

I had a great time in Jamaica and am officially back in Dallas and busy as hell (of course). This is my last full week of work before I leave for Florida next week (Monday night - CAN'T WAIT!), so things are a little swamped. But I wanted to log on and post some pictures from my trip! I unfortunately don't have a camera, so these are all photos from my iPhone. My apologies for the bad quality. Maybe Santa will bring me a digital camera for Christmas (hint hint).

Enjoy!

This is a picture of my room - I had a Butler Suite. It was ridic

This was the view from my room...amazing to wake up to!

The beach! Gorgeous...

More beach! Could have watched the water all day...

Last, but not least...

Jamaican Me Crazy!

Well friends, I am off to Jamaica bright and early tomorrow, so I will unfortunately be M.I.A. until next week. Tough life, huh?

Actually, I am going there for work but will hopefully get a little sun tan while I'm there :) I've never been to Jamaica before, but here is what I visualize:

Ahh, yes...Jamaica is calling my name. Boy do I miss the beach. Off to pack! I'll post if I have some down time :)

FINISHED!!!!

Stacey, Shelby and I officially finished the 2010 White Rock Half Marathon!!

I truly can't thank all of my friends and family for the support. I am especially thankful for Trey and Burton for biking behind us for most of the course cheering us on! It wasn't easy but it was well worth it!

Friday, December 3, 2010

I am really digging this room I found on IKEA.com...I especially like the mirror and "styling station" - their words, not mine. It's a TV stand that they've placed a mirror on top of and are using the shelves for storage for your beauty tools - blow drier, brushes, makeup, etc. Brilliant! I love this and may steal the idea!

Two days to 13.1 miles!

Wow! So sorry for the delay in posting. It's been a pretty hectic week with moving and getting ready for the half marathon on Sunday. I'll give you a quick update on T-Giving and moving and PROMISE to write a better blog next week :)

Thanksgiving was wonderful! We all ate over at Shelby and Burton's house, and everything was absolutely perfect. Trey's and my family met for the first time, and I think it went really well! Always a good thing when parents get along. Although both of our sets of parents are so nice and funny, and I had no doubt that they'd like each other. Black Friday, Sandy and I hit the town to go shopping. I got some great stuff for my new apartment. Sandy and I even tried on some Christian Louboutins that were to die for! We didn't buy, of course, but here's to wishful thinking!

After shopping, we saw Morning Glory, which was adorablllle. I think we can all agree that Rachel McAdams is precious. Then we freshened up and had dinner at Taverna - one of my favorites in Dallas. My rents unfortunately left on Saturday afternoon, but I was so happy to be with them for Thanksgiving...especially since I started feeling a little homesick knowing all of my friends were in Tampa.

This week has been INSANE. I moved on Wednesday to my new apartment :) It is a little bit smaller than I remembered, but I am really excited about having my own space. I like it more and more every time I see it. Not to mention, the building is awesome. Very safe, nice pool and fitness center and the staff/concierge are all so nice and accommodating. It just needs a little bit of work...but I can't wait until it's completed! I'll post pics soon, I promise.

Other than that, I am running the White Rock Half Marathon in TWO days! Crazyyyyy. I'm kind of nervous, but hoping the adrenaline will get me through. Stacey gets in tonight at 7:45, and I can't wait to see that little bean! I'm going to try to go to yoga this afternoon to stretch myself out in preparation for the race. Woop woop! I'll write on Monday to let you know how it goes, but WISH ME LUCK!

T Minus 9 Days...

What a GREAT weekend. I did nothing...literally...and it was pretty amazing. Caught up on some much-needed sleep after the week I had AND got a lot of packing done! Can't believe I'm moving in 9 days...crazy! I'm really excited though. One of my roommates moved out this weekend, and her empty room looks so sad!

In other news, I am running the White Rock Half Marathon in less than 2 weeks! I ran 11 miles yesterday, and my legs are quite sore today. I am just hoping the adrenaline will get me through those last 2 miles because I was tiiiiired after mile 10! Below is the half marathon course.

We start and end at Fair Park, which is nice. But we never run on White Rock Lake, which is bizarre because the race is called, wait for it, the "White Rock" Half Marathon. Interesante...anyway, I am excited for Stacey to come visit and run with me ;) It will be a grand ole time!

The fam is coming here for Thanksgiving, so we are having a feast on Thursday afternoon with the Tuttles, Sheltons and Romes! The Tuttles and Romes will be meeting for the first time evah. Should be very entertaining! I am in charge of making Pumpkin Cheesecake (so yummy!) and Proscuitto Cornbread Stuffing (made this last year and it is dee-llllicious). I'm excited! Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite holidays...mostly because of the food. And, if you know me, you know that I also love being around my family...especially since I don't get to see them all that much now that I live in Tejas.

Speaking of Christmas, I'm at a serious loss of what to get the beau and my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas gifts. I'm just at a total loss! If you have ANY suggestions, please please help! I know I still have some time, but, man, I at least should have some ideas by now! Frustrating...

Okay, hope everyone has a phenom week! I'll write after T-giving with an update on the feast and the meeting of the rents!

Signing off with some hilarious "motivational posters" I got in an email today. Enjoy...

I seriously love these...can't get enough!

WOOOO!

Okay, I don't have the time to make this post awesome, but I'm giving myself a 5-minute break from work to share some VERY exciting news!!!

I just officially signed my lease for a one-bedroom apartment, and it's mine beginning December 1!!! I'm sooooooo excited! It's in a really secure high-rise in Uptown Dallas, and I got a great deal. I feel that I'm at a point in my life where living alone is my next step. I've lived with one to three people for my entire life. Obviously, the last six have been with friends, which has been awesome, but I'm super pumped to live all by my lonesome. I think it will help me keep in touch better with friends and get out more during the week :)

Anyway, to celebrate this news, I jsut bought myself an early house-warming present...a new comforter from Anthro!

Holla! I've been meaning to get a new comforter for a really long time, so this just seemed like the perfect present to myself to make things official!

Will post more about the new apartment soon! For now, back to the grind...

Happy Wednesday!

Gatorbait

Yes, as most of you unfortunately know, the Gators lost miserably on Saturday night against South Carolina. What a BUMMER! They started off the game SO well too with that immediate touchdown within the first 14 seconds. Unreal. I was so pumped after that, but I slowly realized we weren't going to pull a big W against these Gamecocks. Good news is I had a great time tailgating and showing Trey around (as much as I could) the UF campus and taking him to the SAE house. Next year, I decided we'll have to stay in Gainesville over night so we can start tailgating early and do a little bar-hopping after the game.

Got to see some of my good friends over the weekend, which was very nice. I love Tampa...I always feel happy all over whenever I'm in the state of Florida, so it was a nice change of pace from Dallas. AND, I get to go home for a whole week over Christmas break. I am so excited!

That's all for now...will have a better update later this week. I have to start brainstorming some Christmas gift ideas for the fam and the boyfriend. Yikes! I'm gonna need your help on this one, friends...

http://www.ronmartin.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/dog-frustrated.jpg

I've had a frustrating day....

I'm waiting to hear back about an apartment I filled out an application for on Friday that I am in LOVE with...evidently, I got it, but my realtor won't return my emails/calls about signing a lease today! If I got it, let's make it official and sign some documents here...I feel like I can't even get excited and celebrate until the lease is signed, sealed, delivered. Annoying.

I got to work early this morning, had to eat lunch at my desk...and I'm ready to go home. But I have so much workkkk!

I'm trying to plan this media FAM trip for a hotel we represent in Jamaica and am getting some MAJOR tude from some of the journalists. Simmmmma down now. You're getting a free trip to Jamaica, OK?

Ok, that's all. Wish my luck that my afternoon gets better....

Is it really only Tuesday? FML

NOLA: 2, Jenna: 0

Needless to say, New Orleans was insane! The only bummer of the weekend was my camera was stolen...it was obviously an accident because if any of you know me, you know that my camera is 5 years old and, let's be honest, a P.O.S. I don't really care much that it was stolen - just sad that I lost all of the photos from the weekend! I usually don't take a lot of pictures, but I was really good last weekend, and it got stolen at about 3 a.m. on Saturday night (err I guess Sunday morning?) on Bourbon Street. Some dude was taking a picture of our group and as we were looking at other people's cameras/photos/etc. and laughing, the dude had disappeared.

Oh well.

Anyway, here are some photos from the trip (stolen from other people's cameras of course):

Molly and I found some awesome masks at a gas station! Wish we had bought them...

The hippie and the chicken...a match made in Heaven haha

Molly, me, Vic and Jess at lunch on Saturday

This was after Molly and I's power nap on Saturday pre-going out haha...love this

Getting ready to go out on Bourbon!

Bourbon Street...Nuff said

It was a crazy weekend but so much fun. Also, the food in New Orleans is unbelievable. Jambalaya could be my new favorite dish. I'm on the search for a good recipe to make myself!

Last week was spent catching up on sleep and getting my body back to normal after a weekend like that! This weekend was very relaxing also. Friday night, I went to Manny's for a going away party for Miss Elizabeth Wishnatzki and her fiance James, who are moving to L.A. tomorrow! Very sad. But at least we'll be reunited over Christmas in Tampa, then her bachelorette party in February and her WEDDING in April :). Saturday and Sunday, I ran errands and tried to get some packing done, since I am moving in less than a month! Crazy. And no, I don't have anywhere to move yet haha. Sensitive subject. Last night, we had a great bible study. It had been about a month since our last one, so it was nice to get back into the routine. Burton and Shelby were nice enough to cook us burgers and baked potatoes for dinner too. It was yummmmy!

Nothing too much going on this week...butttttt Friday, I get to go back to Florida for the South Carolina/Florida Game!!! I could NOT be more excited. We fly to Tampa Friday night and are driving to Gainesville for the game on Saturday. Hard to believe, but I haven't been to a game in The Swamp since I was in school. I know...should be a sin! I went to Tennessee last year, but Hallie and I decided to go to Salty Dog instead of the game haha. And we went to the SEC Championship in Atlanta last year also, but nothing is like being in the Swamp for a game. I am beyond ecstatic. AND, the beau is coming with me! Should be a great experience for all haha.

Anyway, signing off with a quote from the one and only Urban Meyer. Hope everyone has a great Monday and I will try to write before I leave town this weekend!

Urban Meyer's request of Gator fans at his press conference today:

"I'd like to make this stadium absolutely out of control for South Carolina."

You got it, Urbs!

Shelby = the bomb dot com

I forgot to mention the yummiest thing I have ever tasted...pumpkin seed brittle. Shelby gave me a package on Wednesday and I literally cannot stop eating it. It is like a little bite of heaven. Get it at William & Sonoma IMMEDIATELY!

Well, friends...the Rangers DID make history, but I unfortunately don't think this is their World Series. The first two games were played in San Francisco, and the Giants whooped their bootays both nights. They are coming to Texas for the next three games, so maybe we'll see a change. I don't feel good about it...

My update: last weekend was SMU's Homecoming, so we had a full day of day drinking on Saturday. It was a lot of fun except it rained allll day. I looked like a wet rat by the end of the day (much like Gasparilla last year, HOLLA). But it was fun...we tried to go to the Boulevard, but it looked like a hurricane was coming, so we went to one of our favorite bars Barley House, then Milo's to meet up with Burton and Shelby and their buddies. It was a crazy day...day drinking always kick my butt, so I was exhausted all day on Sunday and Monday. Monday night, my Tampa friend (who went to SMU and lives in Dallas now) Liz took me to the Monday Night Football game with the Cowboys vs. the NY Giants. It was AWESOME. It was my first time to a Cowboys game and my second time to the new stadium (which is absolutely ridiculous). We even got to go down to the field club and watch the game from the field! So awesome. See photo below

You can't see too many Cowboys, but hey look at them Giants! On Wednesday, I went pumpkin carving with Britt, Hannah and Shelby, and here is my sexy kitty pumpkin haha.

I love her. I don't want her to rot and have to throw her out!

TODAY, I am heading to New Orleans for Halloween and am so so so excited. It's been three years since my first visit to NOLA, and I'm ready for another go-around! We are apparently wearing out costumes all day on Saturday, so my hippie-ness is coming out! I'm pretty pumped. All the boys are going to be dressed up as fast food characters...Ronald McDonald, Gold Chick, Wendy, Jack in the Box, etc. etc. I will take lots of photos and will be posting them next week. Stay tuned.

And....

Rangers Making History?

http://images.sportinglife.com/10/10/330/Texas-Rangers-celeb_2517096.jpg

If you know me, you know that I am a Yankees fan...I know I know, you're thinking "you are from Tampa...why aren't you a Rays fan?" Well, the Yankees spring train in Tampa, and we grew up going to Yankees games before the Rays even came to Tampa Bay. So there! Anyway, we got tickets to the first playoff game on Friday night, and the Yankees won! My brother, his wife and I were probably 1 of 100 total Yankees at the game since it was played here in Dallas, but that didn't stop us from cheering anyway. So since then, if you've been watching the playoffs, The Rangers have won the last 3 games...2 of which were in NYC. Crazy! So today (right now actually), they are playing their 5th game, and they may sweep it and make Texas Rangers history, as they've never been to the World Series before. Yeah yeah, I'm a Yankees fan, but I'm also a big proponent for the underdog. So, I'm crossing my fingers for them. I think they are literally the LAST baseball team to have never gone to the World Series...crazy!

Picture of Trey and I at the game

The rest of the weekend was really fun...Shelby and I ran 7 miles on Saturday morning, and celebrated our run with a Fletcher's corn dog and a fried snickers at the Texas State Fair. It was aweeeeesome. We even rode the "Spinnator..." a ride that I was convinced was going to fall apart and kill me in the process. Well, it didn't because here I am. Saturday night, we had dinner with some friends and ended up going to PM Lounge...totally not in the expected plans for the evening but whatever, it was really fun! The start of this week has been pretty crazy. I know I've been saying that a lot lately, but my weeks have started running together. Fall is a busy busy time for my company...isn't it for everyone? I also found out I have to move out of my current apartment by December 4...so I've been frantically searching for someone to live with/somewhere to live. All of my current roomies seem to be going their separate ways, so it's been a little surreal. Needless to say, I've had a LOT on my mind the past 2 weeks. And I don't know that I'll be back to myself until I have a place to live come December...

I'm trying to think positive about everything...that maybe this is a blessing in disguise and it's time for a change, but it's been difficult to do so. I go through spurts, I guess. Yesterday was a bad day, but today was a good day! It sounds like I just had some incredible loss...no no, just a weird time in my life where I'm starting to assess my future a little more than I would on a normal daily basis.

Homelessness aside, I have a LOT to look forward to over the next coming months, so that is really my saving grace right now. I'm going to New Orleans next weekend for Halloween woohoo! I haven't been back to NOLA since SAE's Florida/LSU road trip senior year of college...and we can all assume how that went haha. Then, I'm going to the Florida/South Carolina game IN Gainesville with my parents, Burton and Shelb. SUPER excited about that because I haven't been to a game in the Swamp since college. Can you believe that!? Then we have Thanksgiving, one of the best holidays because all you do is eat! No presents haha - plus my parents are coming to the big D to celebrate with us Texas Tuttles. Weekend after that, I'm running the White Rock Half Marathon with lots of Dallas friends, but ALSO one of my besties Mrs. Stacey Clyne and I can't wait to see her pretty little face and run with her (although I'm sure she's going to kick my behind in the race haha). Then of course we have CHRISTMAS! My favorite time of year :) I am going home for almost a full week and am ecstatic about it. I miss Florida like whoah...especially in the winter time because Tampa winters are approx 60 degrees. And *this just in* we decided today that we are going to a friend's house in Carmel, California for New Year's Eve this year. It will be a much needed vacation after such a crazy fall. I booked my flight today and truly cannot wait.

Soo...all of the above is what I'm trying to focus on for the time being...the positive!

I'll sign out with a picture of my delicious (and nutritious?? nahhhh) Fried Snickers. Yummmmo!

Go Rangers!

Thursday Schmursday

Updates this week:

Went on a run with Trey on Tuesday afternoon, and he is a way better runner than he gives himself credit for! Those long legs were made for speed...

My legs feel like jello because I ran 4 miles AND did body pump last night. There is no way my training schedule truly wants me to do that combo for the "4 miles and strength" day. Wowza!

Going to a Tom Petty cover band concert tonight at the Dallas Arboretum...and am SO excited! I've had a stressful week and can't wait to picnic, drink some vino and watch Petty Theft tonight in great fall weather!

That's all! I'm planning for a very chill weekend...dinner with some friends, maybe go to the Texas Fair for a Fletcher's corn dog (yum!)...not too much on the agenda, and happy about it!

Happy Thursday!

Lo Siento!

Sorry I didn't post last week! I had a week of hell and didn't have any time to even breathe! On Monday, my roommates and I found out that we have to move out of our current apartment by December 5. The leasing manager of our apartment completely screwed us and raised our rent by $200/month if we wanted to resign a lease there. I was totally bummed because I really like our apartment. It is so convenient...close to where my office is, close to my gym and close to where we go out at night. Anyway, I was totally frazzled trying to find a new place but we are going to look at a couple of town homes (for lease) on Wednesday that I'm pretty pumped about. I'll keep you updated!

Besides that, work was insane last week since I took Friday off to go to Horseshoe Bay for Trey's sister's wedding, which was a total blast. It was such an unbelievable wedding - everything was gorgeous and it made me excited to plan my own little wedding sometime in the future :)

My parents went to Austin City Limits over the weekend, which is hysterical to me, and my mom flew to Dallas on Thursday night to hang out with me, which was SO much fun! I didn't realize how much I missed my momma until I got me some Sandy time. The BF and I are going to the South Carolina/Florida game with the fam in November, so I'm really excited about that!

Anyway, that's really it from my end as far as an update! Will be sure to write later this week and post some recent pics.

Pet Peeve

Okay, I hate complaining and I promise not to make this a regular occurrence, but I have to vent this morning.

As you know, I just started training for a half marathon in December a couple of weeks ago (sidenote: the half marathon I am running also has a full marathon option). Since then, I'm happy to report that many of my friends are joining in and have decided to run with me, which I am SOO excited about...the more the merrier and I'm touched to be any kind of influence that pushed them to do so! Plus, I love running partners :)

That said, there have also been some people that have heard about the half-marathon and have said (to my face) something along the lines of "You know what, I think I'll run the full marathon. But I don't need to train...I mean I'm a runner. It can't be that hard, right?"

YES!

It IS hard. Training for any race is difficult for all types of runners, especially when your body isn't accustomed to running that kind of distance. There is nothing easy about running 13.1 miles or 26.2 miles! Hell, I ran 4 miles this morning and it was hard! So please, people, even if it is easy for you to run a half-marathon or a marathon, keep it to yourself because you're reallllllllly killin my high.

That's all. Happy National Coffee Day!

Organizing...

Obsessed with the Web site See Jane Work, which has a bunch of desk organizers AND they carry Jonathan Adler accessories, who I LOVE. I'm also a nut about being organized...especially at my desk. I literally cannot work if my office isn't neat. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Love this magnetic board:

And this desk notepad:

And my fave! These sticky notes are awesome:

It's beginning to look a lot like FAAALLLLLL

http://trendfunnel.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/pumpkins400.jpg
I heart pumpkins

Yesterday and today, I awoke to the prettiest days in Dallas of the year. No joke. The weather has been absolutely perfect. Yesterday was low 70s all day and today has been the same. In fact, my car said it was 66 degrees outside on my short drive to work! I only wished I wasn't running late and could have walked to the office this morning. Unfortunately, I am almost always running late in the mornings. Oh well.

I went for a run last night with Bailey boy...it was my first run with him, and it was AMAZING. By far, the best running weather, and I love it! I ended up losing track of my mileage and we ran 4.88 miles! I couldn't believe the pup kept up with me, as the most he has run with his dad is 3 miles. We had a blast. He gets a little excited when he sees people (and dogs...yikes), but he was great while we were running through the Highland Park neighborhood. I tried to snap a photo of us after the run but Bailey was not cooperating haha. I can't wait for more runs with my pup!

Cross your fingers that this unbelievable weather continues...

Updates from the weekend
Thursday: Kings of Leon concert...awesome, I love them.
Friday: SMU vs. TCU game...so much fun even though SMU lost. Close game though!
Saturday: Lounged...it was amazing. Lunched at Taj Mahal, bought a new Northface rain jacket, took Bailey to the dog park, threw the frisbee around at the park and watched Robin Hood (the 2010 version), which was pretty good. I was passed out before midnight.
Sunday: Bed, Bath & Beyond run, lunch at Whole Foods at Park Lane (which is AMAZING if you've never been...I want to live there), cleaned up the house, went for a run with Bailey and watched an awesome documentary with the roommates.

Not too much to report for the week ahead...the Red River Rivalry (Texas/OU game) is on Saturday, which is sure to be a crazy weekend! Man, I live for the weekends...

Oopsie Daisey

I have been so swamped at work this week that I completely forgot about blogging! Yes, I know it's only been 2 days since my last post, but I was so shocked when I looked at my bookmark toolbar and saw "That's What She Said" and quickly realized my neglect!

Not much to update on except my half-marathon training, I guess (how exhilarating! I know I know haha). But I do need to report how amazing it feels to actually feel my body getting used to running outdoors. I know that sounds completely dorky, but today was the first time I've run outside after work (it's been too hot lately!) and actually had a great run and could feel my body getting into running shape! I even ran 1 mile longer than my training schedule commanded me to! I was extremely proud of myself :)

Anywhoo, that's all on my front...I am extremely excited for the weekend! Tomorrow is the Black Keys/Kings of Leon concert (Ya know thatttt I could uuuuuuuuuuse someboooodaaaaaay!) and Friday is the SMU/TCU game. Can't wait to tailgate and cheer on the Stangs!

Pony Up!

Halloween

http://i.acdn.us/image/A7586/758679/300_758679.jpg

Does anyone else love candy corn? I went to the store yesterday afternoon and walked RIGHT past the Halloween candy. How could I forget to buy candy corn? It is one of my favorite things about Halloween! In my defense, there was a gay pride parade yesterday on the street that my grocery store is located...and there were many parade goers in the store. So I was a little preoccupied. I'm actually surprised I got everything on my shopping list! Anyway, me thinks I'll have to make an emergency run to CVS today to grab some CC. Yummmmmy.

I love the fall...pumpkins, leaves changing, cooler weather. Just a happy time. In thinking about candy corn this morning, I realized I don't have any idea what I am dressing as for Halloween! This year, I am going to be in New Orleans for the holiday, so I have to think of something good. My ideas so far are:
  1. Hippie
  2. Angel
  3. Bumble Bee
  4. Cat
  5. Fairy
I'm not a huge fan of buying costumes...I like to make my own, so I figured either of these would be pretty simple to make. Right now, I'm learning towards hippie. I already have a fringe vest and jean shorts, so all I'd really need to complete the look is a flowy-like shirt, a headband and other hippie accessories. I have long hair, so I think I could pull it off!

What do you think? Any other ideas you can throw my way?

http://blogs.aupairinamerica.com/chicagoarea/files/2010/01/TGIF4.jpg

Yeah I saw this and couldn't help myself....

I wish I had something fun to report, but I don't! My week has been pretty boring. I had dinner with Hannah and her mom at Eddie V's last night, which was AMAZING. I had crab-stuffed shrimp, and we got some truffle mac and cheese for the table...ridiculously good. I wanted to take a picture of it, but felt awkward haha. And to top it off, we got banana's foster for dessert. I don't even know how to describe how amazing this dessert was, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like bananas! It came out on fire - it was awesome. And it tasted like a warm gooey cake...just promise me if you ever go to Eddie V's, you will order it because it was heavenly.

Not too many plans on the horizon for the weekend, which is a-okay with me because last weekend was a drunkfest for Hannah's birthday. I'm just happy to be able to sleep in for two days! Woo woooooo. Annnnnd I'm signing this post off with a big...

Hump day!

I love Wednesdays. Not only because it means tomorrow is Thursday (which is one step closer to FRIDAY and the WEEKEND!), but also because my intern comes in on Wednesdays, and she really helps my workload a lot.

In other news, this week has been pretty nutty. Yesterday, I was on the phone practically 90% of my day - all work-related...well, besides one quick phone call to my momma :) Anyway, it was difficult to get any real work done, but I managed. Aside from work, I just started training for my second half-marathon! I ran my first one - the Dallas Rock & Roll Half Marathon - last March. So I took the summer off from running outside...because Lord knows running in the Texas summer heat is borderline impossible, not to mention dangerous. So I started my 12-week training program on Monday, and, in a nut shell, here is what the next 12 weeks looks like:

Monday: Spinning
Tuesday: Run 3 to 4 miles
Wednesday: Run 3 miles plus Body Pump
Thursday: Run 2 to 3 miles (easy run)
Friday: Day off
Saturday: Long run (distance starts at 4 miles and increases 1 mile every week)
Sunday: Yoga

I'll keep you up to date with my progress. So far, so good :) I will say that running outside is definitely tough to get used to. It's funny, I could run on the treadmill for miles and miles...and that's what I've been doing for the past couple of months...but running outside is a completely different work out. Sure, running on the treadmill is great for you, but running outside works every single muscle in your body. It is so much harder than the tread! 3 miles outside feels harder to me than 6 miles on the treadmill haha. Who woulda thought?

Signing off now and am super excited about the Top Chef finale tonight! Who do you think will win? My vote is for Ed...or Kevin...but not Angelo. No me gusta. That guy has a serious ego problem.

So. Tired.

What a weekend.

I can hardly keep my eyes open today! This is how I feel right now...

And this is what I wish I was doing...

My only highlight was RA Sushi for lunch. That place is so delicious - Definitely my favorite sushi resto here. I just wish it was closer than Plano!

The only thing keeping me going is the thought of hopping in my bed tonight, getting under my covers and passing out early! The countdown begins...
