hot hot hot

Apparently my last post was a little too hostile, so I'm going to lighten up things on this gorgeous (and HOT) Friday!

1.   My favorite color is  turquoise and coral. My favorite color to wear is white or black - sounds boring but I promise accessorize with color!

2.  My travel destination of choice is  Cashiers, North Carolina or any beach destination

3.  My favorite  food is   cheese and cereal - but not together. Grosse!

4.  My happy place is  all things Tampa

5.  My favorite saying is    I have two...my favorite bible verse is "It is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8). My favorite quote is: "Take too many pictures, laugh too much and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end; be afraid that it will never begin." Because we all need a little reminder (of both) sometimes.

6.  My dirty little secret is  I don't like fruit...yep, I know I know. I only like apples and cherries. Don't judge me.

7.  Something friends might say about me is that I  am not a phone person. If you need to get in touch with me, text me.

get over it

I like to call this my "get over it" post. Enjoy!

I'm sorry that...

1.  I like to watch the Today Show every morning while I'm getting ready. No, it may not be "hard news," but I like it. Get over it.

2. Sometimes I don't shower before work when I don't have any meetings and know I'll be behind my computer all day. I showered last night, and I couldn't have gotten THAT dirty in 8 hours. Get over it.

3. I like to plan things and have a schedule...I'm a planner and I make things happen. Get over it.

4. I prefer flip flops over heels. And, no, that doesn't make me less of a girly girl. Get over it.

5. My roots are showing and I don't really feel like getting my hair colored right now. Get over it.

6. I don't wear makeup to work every day. It's the summertime!! Get over it.

7. I plan to and will be using all the vacation days that were given to me. Why else would there be a point in having them?? Get over it.

8. I speak my mind. I'm a straight shooter, and that's just how I roll. Get over it.

9. I'm obsessed with the Florida Gators. SEC is OBVIOUSLY the best football conference - should we look at the last five national champions? And don't even think about talking sh*t about Tim Tebow. Get over it.

10. I like to have a romantical date night every once in a while. Just because I'm in a 2-year relationship doesn't mean the romance should die. Get over it.

Just thought I would publicly share some situations that I would love to respond with a simple "get over it" sometimes. What about you?

Had an amaaaazing trip with some amazing people. I was beyond depressed yesterday having to leave some my best friends and come back to reality!

More details to come, but yes, I'm alive.

friday post - from the iphone

Happy Friday friends! I'm in NYC visiting friends but wanted to do my fill in the blanks while I had a sec to spare :)

1. One of my happiest moments ever was when my brother got married - I obviously haven't taken that step yet but loved seeing his happily ever after come true!

2. Summer is wedding season and weddings are wonderful! I love weddings and love seeing two people unite and make it official in front of friends and family :)

3. This summer has been sooooooo hot! They're saying it's the second hottest summer EVER in Texas.

4. My summer food of choice has been apples and barbecue. No they don't necessarily go together but are both delish on their own!

5. My summer uniform has been tanks, shorts and summer dresses. Too hot to wear anything else!

6. If I could spend the entire summer in one location I would choose Carmel or any beach in Florida. It doesn't seem right to be living in these high temps with no beach nearby.

7. My summer anthem is anything Kenny Chesney. For some reason his songs exude summer for me.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

nyc-bound! by jtuttle42 featuring loose shorts

Well ladies, I'm jet-setting to NYC for the weekend for a much-needed vacation with my girls!!! So excited to be back in the city - I haven't visited in 3 years (that should be against the law...) and am ecstatic! In 24 hours, I'll be reunited with my loves and living large! Cannot wait. I'll take lots of pics to post from the weekend.

Tootles!

harry potter

Don't worry, I won't give anything away from the movie, but I must say that this was the BEST end to a series that I have ever seen. The cast did such an incredible job, and it has seriously been so fun watching them grow up throughout the past 10 years (yes, I'm a dork). The movie was just a perfect ending to an amazing series.

Some background: I read Harry Potter books 1-4 but skipped 5 and 6 (I know I know...and I call myself a true fan), BUT I did read the final book. The reason why I skipped 5 and 6 was college. I know that's a pathetic excuse, but I didn't read a ton of books for pleasure while I was in college...there was no time, am I right!? So before the final two movies came out (the 7th book was split into two movies), I decided I had to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and, boy am I happy that I did. As with all books turned to movies, a lot of the Harry Potter movies leave out a LOT of explanation about why things happen the way they do. Needless to say, this final movie was probably 95% on point, which is waaaaay above average. Side note: the last two Twilight movies really disappointed me with all that they left out. And, yes, if you haven't figured it out, I am really into tween book series haha. There's something about Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games (currently on the last book) that really intrigue me! I don't know how or why, but it is what it is haha.

Anyway, even if you haven't read the HP books but have seen a couple of the movies, I really suggest you spend a weekend catching up and go see the finale in theaters. They are incredibly entertaining and take you to a totally different world, which is why I love movies in the first place.

And do yourself a favor, and see Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D and IMAX. Hollllly mollllly...so amazing.

Happy Monday to everyone!

fantastic friday

Happy Friday ladies!

1.   I am a (morning, evening, middle of the day person)  morning person fo sho (unless I've had a late night out - I'm not happy in the mornings if that's the case!). I love breakfast, love coffee and love the morning air!

2.  My favorite Pandora stations are  Glee (it's amazing), Kenny Chesney, Mumford & Sons and The Script. Occasionally, I'll put on some J. Timberlake or GirlTalk if I'm feeling feisty.

3.  my "must-have" songs for a road trip playlist are  Callin' Baton Rouge (Garth Brooks), Nashville Blues (Cory Morrow), Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' (Journey) and anything GirlTalk - I have song ADD when driving so GirlTalk solves that problemo.

4.  My favorite pattern is stripes or florals.

5.  My favorite perfume is   Jo Malone - Lime Basil & Mandarin. I'm not a huge perfume person, and this scent is so refreshing...it never gets old.

6.  Rules are just rules. Some rules were meant to be broken, but others are there for a reason.
7.  My most overused phrase or punctuation is "that's what she said" - kinda goes with the blog, dontcha think? haha

4. a flower vase

 5. outdoor decor

6. bathroom storage

  7. my personal favorite - a photo display!
